2025 Forthcoming Social Events

Derek and Judy have, once again, putt together another excellent and exciting Social Calendar for this year. Below are our current Scheduled Events for 2025.  Special events and notices in RED

Events for 2025

1.  2025 Pub lunch schedule

NOTE:- Pub lunches are held on the second Tuesday of every month except as noted below. Pub lunch venues are provisional and actual venue on any month will be published on the home page and in red on this page when confirmed.

June              Tuesday 10th.           The Five Bells Henlow.

July               Tuesday 8th.            The King’s Reach, Biggleswade

August.         Tuesday 12th.          The Orange Tree Baldock.

September     Tuesday 9th.            The Orange Tree Hitchin.

October         Tuesday 14th.          TBC

November      Tuesday 11th.          TBC

December.     NO PUB LUNCH due to Christmas lunch.

2.  Future Events

2.1  June 16th – 21st 5 day Spring Break to Widermere

Day 1, Monday, June 16th – Board our coach in Sandy and depart to NEWBY BRIDGE, Windermere and check into the Newby Bridge Hotel for our four nights’ stay.

Day 2, Tuesday 17th – Travel by coach to BOWNESS on WINDERMERE where we will have some free time before our boat cruise on the lake to AMBLESIDE.  We will have a leisurely afternoon here before taking the boat back to BOWNESS, rejoining our coach for the trip back to our hotel.

Day 3, Wednesday 18th – Travel to ‘Holker Hall and Gardens;. a short distance from GRANG-OVER-SANDS.  We can visit the house and gardens, which some have voted the “best examples in the World”.  There are refreshments on site and the inevitable Gift Shop!

Day 4, Thursday 19th – Travel by coach to Keswick for a free mornig enjoying the sites. At 2:00pm we have an afternoon tea at the SKIDDAW HOTEL in the centre of KESWICK and then rejoin our coach and retun to our hotel.

Day 5, Friday 20th – Travel day back to Sandy.

2.2   Probus Annual BBQ 4th July 2025 1200pm FOR 12.30

Thanks to Peter Onion for arranging for us to hold our annual BBQ at the Ickwell Cricket Ground where we will follow our usual format.
THE COST WILL BE £16.50 PER PERSON which will include our full BBQ, WIne, and Soft Drinks.  Dessert will be provided by the Ladies’ Club
For catering purposes we now require numbers for this event.  If you would like to attend please contact Judy and Derek to reserve your place.  As usual, Judy’s and Derek’s contact details are provided in your member handbook.
Payment will be requested at a later date
As usual, please bring with you chair, a Gazabo if required and a dessert Bowl and spoon.  Cutlery for th BBQ will be provided.
