1. REPORTS

1.1  The Ladies’ October lunch and AGM report can be read HERE

1.2  Our annual Christmas lunch, with a total of 97 attendees, was held on Thursday 11th December, in the main hall of Sandy Conservative Club.  As well as club members and spouses the lunch was attended by widows of former members and guests from St Neots Probus Club, Sandy Rotary Club and the Rector of St Swithun’s Church.  Between the main and dessert courses there was a break during which we were entertained with carols sung by pupils of Sir William Peel junior school, and after the meal the Rector of St Swithun’s church, the Rev. Jodie Brown, presented a precis of the Christmas story, imaginatively illustrated with varieties of ‘Celebrations’ chocolates. This was followed by a raffle of the ‘usual’ varieties of ‘Christmas spirit’ and miscellaneous gifts, and a draw, amongst the ladies present, for the Poinsettia Table decorations.  Finally, our club President thanked everyone for their attendance and wished everybody a very Happy Christmas.    Overall, the event was well organised, the food was delicious and well presented, and it was a very good start for the general Christmas festivities.
