The Probus Club of Waltham Forest is located on the North East London and Essex borders. We meet at The Queen Elizabeth, Forest Side, Chingford, from 12.15 to 3.30pm on the third Monday of each month.
The meetings consist of a two course lunch, followed by a guest speaker. The talks cover a range of subjects of general interest.
The ladies are catered for by a Ladies Lunch held each November, and a Christmas Lunch in December, which are open to all members and a guest. In addition, we hold pub lunches and/or excursions during the year at which partners are welcome.
The current membership fees (2023-2024) are £10:00 per year, and the monthly lunch costs £16:00 per head which includes two courses, main and sweet, with tea or coffee.
You are welcome to become a member of the Probus Club if you are a man who is retired or semi-retired from a profession or business. You will be invited to a lunch as a guest to see the club and then decide whether you wish to join.
History:
The club was founded in 1977 and has the aim of offering those no longer in full-time employment to meet in convivial and social surroundings.
