Wednesday 18 February saw the annual Past Presidents lunch take place in the Bridge House, St Neots, organised by our immediate Past President Les.

There were 14 Past Presidents and partners present for the event, many fresh from the Monthly Coffee Morning.

As always there was lots to talk about and everyone enjoyed their meals – the menu is quite extensive, so choosing is always a series of difficult decisions.

The 54th Anniversary Lunch was held on the 6th May 2026 in the St Neots Rugby Union Football Club (SNRUFC). 31 members and partners attended along with our guests and their partners from the SNRUFC and the Rotary Club of St Neots, making a total of 35 diners.

Jackie, Sarah and the crew looked after us all in their usual exemplary way, serving up a wonderful lunch consisting of: Starter of Melon and Parma Ham; Main Course of Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding, Roast and Boiled Potatoes and seasonal vegetables; Dessert of a selection of Gateaux, tarts and Fresh Fruit Salad.

Our Vice President Robert led proceedings in the absence of our President, welcoming everyone at the main entrance along with the Secretary and Immediate Past President Les.

There was the usual raffle run at this function by Bob assisted by JC.

JUNE

Strawberry Tea

The annual Strawberry Tea was held on Wednesday the 24th June in the St Neots Rugby Union Football Club (SNRUFC) on a lovely warm sunny day. The occasion saw 43 members and partners attend. Jackie and her crew were in charge of catering as usual and as in previous years no one was disappointed with the choice of food on offer. The starter was a cake stand of various sausage rolls, sandwiches and crisps (which was immediately topped up when it was empty), this was followed by a variety of scones with jam and cream,cakes and sponges, all finished off with strawberries and cream.

There was the usual raffle organised by our Raffle Master, Roger and his assistant Bob.

A wonderful event enjoyed by those attending.

BBQ

The annual BBQ took place at the SNRUFC on Wednesday 26th August. The weather was not quite as hot as it had been of late which made it much more bearable for everyone, especially Sarah who was doing the cooking. 35 members, partners and guests attended the event and were treated to a wonderful selection of Vension Burgers and Sausages, Beef Burgers, Pork Sausages and Chicken Breast, accompanied by a selection of salad items and boiled potatoes. As if that was not enough for everyone, it was then time for dessert – on offer was fresh fruit salad, apple pie, strawberry trifle, lemon meringue pie, roulad and profiteroles, with cream for those that wanted it. We finished off with coffee/tea and mints. As always Jackie and her crew did a sterling job of keeping us all very well looked after and definitely not hungry!!

Our President thanked Jackie and her crew and announced we would be doing it again in 2027.
