Ramsey Probus Club was founded in 1982 to provide a regular meeting point for local retired business professionals ‘to promote social well-being through companionship and discussion’ – or at least those were its objectives 33 years ago. Today Ramsey’s Probus Club has 63 members meeting regularly for a two course lunch at the Ramsey Golf & Bowls Club. The social aspect of meeting friends on this regular basis encourages much cordial discussion before and during the meal as well as in the club bar afterwards. Occasionally the group invites an after dinner speaker.
The Ramsey Probus Club organises many events throughout the year; this year includes trips ranging from a holiday in Eastbourne to a visit to the House of Commons with a Thames River Cruise thrown in for good measure. Each year there is a Presidents Dinner and a Christmas Lunch plus other events such as a BBQ or Hog Roast in the summer months.
If you are a retired professional and fancy a monthly dose of dining, socialising and like-minded good company then Probus could be just the tonic that you need. The club is for retired professional and business men only, however there is also a separately run Ladies Probus Club which meets at the same venue on a different day.
