We are one of the oldest Probus clubs in Surrey and as the name suggests, the membership is made up of PROfessional and BUSiness people, all now retired or semi-retired.
Our careers are wide, and all are experienced both in their work and their hobbies and interests. Our careers range, inter alia, from Architects and Aviators to Lawyers and Veterinary Surgeons, Medical Doctors, Engineers and Business and Marketing men. They have hobbies that include gardening, golf, conservation, a variety of sports and arts in all its forms and even bee-keeping. This makes our meetings both convivial and interesting.
We do not have a club house as such, but choose a suitable venue for our meetings. Currently we are at the Cranleigh Golf and Country Club. We usually meet up in the club bar for a drink before sitting down for a simple meal. Frequently there is a talk after lunch by various speakers. The club also hold visits and outside events such as theatre trips, Skittles and during the festive season a Carol Service. These are popular and well attended.
Probus A Club has broadened its membership to include ladies and we are pleased to say that since coronavirus lockdown has eased, two ladies have joined. We hope more will follow
