We are now starting to think about how we can resume our social activities for 2022.  We had a Christmas lunch in December and we joined with members of two other local Probus Clubs for trips to the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway in September and to Tissington Hall in October.  Details are given below of the sort of events we undertook before the pandemic locked us down. We look forward to a time when we can have such a full programme of events in the future when this coronavirus thingy will be behind us.

The social programme we had planned for 2020 is set out below but we could not proceed with any of them whilst the Covid restrictions were in place.

Tuesday 21 April    Spring Lunch.  The Lawns Chellaston.

Saturday 18 July    Barbeque at the home of Terry Holbrook

Tuesday 15 September    Autumn lunch at Trent Lock Golf Club

Friday 6 November      Skittles Evening at the Royal Oak, Ockbrook

Tuesday 8 December     Christmas Lunch at Cleve Lodge, Long Eaton

The following events were arranged in 2019.

February 7th 2019      A visit to the Royal Crown Derby factory was arranged and sixteen members and their partners took part in this visit

April 11th 2019          Our Spring Lunch took place at Trent Lock Golf Club and was attended by thirty members and their guests.

April 12th 2019          A visit to the Rolls Royce Heritage Centre on Osmaston Road, Derby was supported by 7 members and two guests.

July 23rd 2019          Bramcote and District Probus Club invited us to join them for an evening of boules at the Plough Inn in Normanton-on-the-Wold.  A small contingent of our members made the trip across Nottingham to be given a lesson on how to play by a team of two whose combined ages was 182 – the more senior of them had just passed his 98th birthday!

August 10th 2019       Our Summer Barbeque took place at the home of Terry Holbrook.  We are grateful to Terry for providing a venue for this event.  Twenty members and their guests attended.  Because of the weather the event took place indoors and was enjoyed by everyone there

September 3rd 2019  Nine members and guests visited the National Space Centre in Leicester.  A very interesting but tiring day out.

September 24th 2019       Our autumn lunch was held at Cleve Lodge in Long Eaton.

October 25 2019    Skittles Night at the Royal Oak, Ockbrook.  We were joined at this event by several members of Bramcote and District Probus Club.

December 3rd 2019   Our Christmas lunch was held at Kilburn Hall.   After the meal we were entertained by two singers.
