COFFEE MORNINGS: Wednesday 10th July 1000H &  14th August 1000H 2024

The Committee is pleased to announce that our summer events this year will be A VISIT in July followed by a COFFEE MORNING in August.  Details are as below.

JULY : Wednesday 10 July 2024, Visit to The Beach Ballroom at 10am.
Following interest shown at the “Wish You’d Been There” last month, we are pleased to announce a visit to The Beach Ballroom.  Tea/coffee with a scone/pancake will be served in the Promenade Suite where we can also look forward to a video presentation on the history of the Beach Ballroom and some related memorabilia on display; a short tour of the Ballroom will follow – please note that the tour will entail a number of stairs (there is no lift).  Members can, of course, enjoy the event without the tour.

Cost will be £10 (tip included).  Both names and payment are required in advance – members can sign up and pay at the May meeting or the June AGM.  Payment is required by 1 July 2024; refunds may not be possible after that date.

AUGUST : Wednesday 14 August 2024, Coffee Morning at Duthie Park Café at 10am
We will have the use of an area adjacent to the Winter Gardens.  Cost will be £6.50 for tea/coffee and scone/pancake (tip included).  Both names and payment are required in advance – members can sign up and pay at the May meeting, the June AGM or the July visit.  Payment is required by 31 July 2024; refunds may not be possible after that date.

PAYMENT for either July or August or both.   For reasons of traceability, please pay by cheque or by BACS transfer where possible, as follows :  either : cheque payable to “Granite City Ladies Probus Club”

WALKING GROUP: 15th MAY 2024 

Book Club (2) – Contact: June Waters    meet at Kippie Lodge, Milltimber 

MAH JONG     – Contact: Barbara 077879 891276  Email: barbaramarshall2@gmail.com  – 1st Wed of the month, Curl Aberdeen Viewing Gallery 1000-1200H.  Fees £48 Sept – May. Tea/Coffee biscuits served at 1100H at own cost on the day reduced to £2 p/p. i.e. £1.50 for tea/coffee only. Same Instructor for all levels with us for the whole session Sept. 2023-May 2024.  Standard & Progressive rules printouts available (also sent by email to members).  Currently 17 members.  New members welcome!   Sheila handed over a card and gift to Jackie at Curl Aberdeen to mark her retirement after 25years at Curl Aberdeen.  Georgina wrote to Jackie in May, thanking her for the excellent and efficient service provided to our group.

MAH JONG ANNUAL LUNCH 5th June 2024 – venue TBA – suggestions to Barbara:  Enough funds to cover cost of meal due to number of members.
